KHETHENG MURDER TRIAL RESUMES

                  
Maseru, Apr.02—- After it was adjourned last month, a case in which four police officers are charged with the murder of their colleague, Police Constable Mokalekale Khetheng resumed before the High Court on Wednesday.

The defence in this matter continued with cross-examination of Inspector Mohoang who is one of the investigation officers in this case.

The witness was told by one of the defence lawyers Advocate Zwelakhe Mda (KC) that the accused were not warned or advised of their rights when they were arrested. He was further told that the accused were subjected to brutal torture by the police.

Adv. Mda put it to the witness that one of the accused Sub-Inspector Haleokoe Taasoane has instructed him that when the police got to his home, they did not announce their presence. He stated that it was his colleague Police Officer ‘Molaoa who introduced himself without disclosing that he was with other police officers from outside the jurisdiction of Leribe…
