Maseru, Oct. 19— Justice Charles Hungwe, a foreign judge presiding over some of the high-profile cases, who has been away since August following expiration of his contract as an acting judge of the High Court of Lesotho is back.
He was on Thursday seen in court presiding over two part heard cases, one in which four police officers are accused of killing their colleague Police Constable Mokalekale Khetheng who died in 2016 as well as another in which some members of the army are accused of killing Brigadier Maaparankoe Mahao who died on June 25, 2015, at Ha Lekete in Mokema.
Chief Justice Sakoane Sakoane who has been providing updates on the appointment of Justice Hungwe had on Monday this week stated that there was progress on the issue. He had however indicated that there was still an issue remaining adding that it was expected to be dealt with by end of business that same day.
