IPA MEMBERS DONATE CLOTHES TO SOS CHILDREN

Quthing, March 08 – – Members of International Police Association (IPA) from the southern districts will donate clothes and sanitary pads to children at SOS Children’s village, Quthing on Friday this week.

In an interview  IPA Chairperson in Quthing district, Mr. Monaheng Mohola said the clothes and sanitary pads will be given to children as part of IPA members activities from the southern region annual plan.

He noted that activities for the day will include motivational speeches, crime prevention, child protection and children responsibilities, and importance of different children’s clubs for children and guardians from the SOS Children’s village.

Mr. Mohola further said other activities to be carried out during the course of the year include different public groups awareness campaigns on crime prevention, cleaning campaigns, and working in partnership with community groups in developmental activities.

This is the first activity of its kind to be held by IPA members from the Southern region this year.

IPA has more than 100 members from the southern districts namely Qacha’s Nek, Quthing, Mohale’s Hoek and Mafeteng.

IPA was established in 1950 with the aim to create a channel for friendship and international co-operation amongst police officers. Lesotho was affiliated to IPA in August 1988.
