HUMANITARIAN DELEGATION MEETS QUTHING DDMT

Quthing, Jan 30 – – As part of monitoring progress of activities for the Drought Relief Project being implemented in Maryanne Community Council funded International Federation of and Red Crescent (IFRC), a delegation held a meeting with some members of the District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) at the District Administrator Hall on Thursday

Speaking at the same event, the District Disaster Management Officer (DMO) Ms. ‘Manaha Posholi expressed gratitude for the project support of the community from the council that was faced with a challenge of food insecurity.

Ms. Posholi highlighted that project activities have been implemented working hand in hand with the line department to ensure that planned activities meet the intended purpose to address food insecurity, improve nutrition, build resilience and that the assistance go to the right people, also addressing the challenges of gender based violence crime acts which are common during emergency response.

Presenting on progress of the project activities at the same event, the Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) Quthing Division Secretary Ms Lieketseng Masunyane said it has provided cash assistance to 500 beneficiaries for a period of three months as planned. . .
