Maseru, Mar. 25 — His Majesty King Letsie III is set to play a prominent role as he represents the African continent at the upcoming Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit.
This significant event, organized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will take place in Paris on March 27 to 28, 2025. As the African Union Champion for Nutrition, King Letsie III’s participation underscores the critical importance of addressing nutritional challenges on a global scale.
According to the statement, N4G Summit represents a pivotal moment for world leaders committed to promoting nutrition and sustainable development. It will bring together a diverse array of stakeholders, including heads of state and government, bilateral and multilateral donors, civil society organizations, UN entities, philanthropic foundations, members of the private sector, research institutions, and media personnel. This gathering aims to foster collaboration and holistic strategies to tackle the pressing challenges related to nutrition.
At the heart of the summit’s agenda is the urgent need to close the substantial funding gap in nutrition initiatives. Current estimates indicate a $13 billion annual shortfall that critically hampers effective nutrition-related programs. LS/TL
