Maseru, Oct. 01 — The Ministry of Health has reported low vaccination coverage in several key immunizations, falling short of its 80 percent target for child vaccination in areas covered by Maseru City Council (MCC) facilities.
According to Ms. Keneuoe Sefoba, a nurse from Maseru District Health Committee stated that while there was some progress made, there was still a significant gap in immunizing children against diseases such as measles, polio, BCG and HPV.
Speaking on the vaccination efforts, Ms. Sefoba noted that 56 percent of children received the diarrhea vaccine and 66 percent were covered for BCG vaccinations.
Ms. Sefoba expressed her concern over the low overall coverage, attributing it to various challenges faced on the ground.
