HA MAK’HUOENG RESIDENTS ARE FACING DIFFICULTIES

Maseru, March 8 — A resident from Ha Mak’huoeng in Thaba Tseka said they are crying for improvements because the situations that they are facing are bad.

According to Mrs. Motsélisi Nono the challenges  they are facing are unbearable, she said when a person pass away, they do not have time to take them to mortuaries and they end up staying with the corpse until a person is buried.

She said one thing that helps the bodies delay decomposition is that older people do some things to the corpse.

Mrs. Nono stated that the life they live at rural areas is not appealing because they face challenges that a person from urban areas would not survive.

She said when a person gets sick and be admitted to the hospital, they take three hours walking before
reaching the taxis of Ha Makhangoa.

She indicated that ever since a taxi driver of the cars from Ha Makhangoa was killed the drivers of taxis have been told not to take passengers after 16:00 pm.

She said this after a young man was shot by thieves and they had difficulties in admitting him to the hospital.

According to Mrs. Nono, a 16 years old boy was shot after trying to run away from the thieves, she said one of the thieves grabbed him but Unfortunately they shot the boy on the leg.

Mrs. Nono said that they have a big challenge of their stock being stolen and stock theft is currently a big deal in Lesotho.

Lesotho Mounted Police Services under the department of Zero Tolerance to Stock Theft has started operating to make sure that Basotho’s stock is safe and also if it is stolen, they are recovered.
