Maseru, Oct. 07—The Government of Lesotho through the Ministry of Public service, Labour and Employment has issued a statement addressing the concerns of some factory workers through their various unions about the Labor Code amendment , 2023.
The Ministry has in the statement acknowledged that difference of opinions does happen where different people are working together adding that it is acceptable as long as there is no violation of the law. They appealed to the workers affected by the Bill to acknowledge that it is not an exception from other Codes of countries under the International Labour Organisation. They added that the Code is not intended to offend anyone. They emphasised that it is in line with other international labour laws, not only for factory workers but workers in general as per international conventions.
