Maseru, June 30 — With the ongoing road maintenance that the government of Lesotho has engaged in some parts of the Maseru town, some of the citizens have applauded these initiatives.
Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Sunday, Mr. Teboho Moiloa who is a motorist said that maintaining the road infrastructure is crucial for ensuring safe and efficient transportation networks and regular road maintenance not only improves road conditions but also extends their lifespan, reduces the risk of accidents and enhances overall sustainability.
He stated that regular maintenance should also be done on the roads as it helps preserve the value and integrity of road assets as by addressing minor issues promptly, such as cracks, potholes, and surface deterioration, road maintenance prevents these problems from escalating into more significant and costlier repairs.
Mr. Moiloa also mentioned that proactive maintenance measures significantly extend the lifespan of roads in that by addressing issues early on and applying preventive treatments, such as seal coating and surface rejuvenation, road maintenance professionals can protect the underlying pavement structure and prevent premature deterioration.
