FOOD, COORDINATING OFFICE CALLS FOR INCREASED PRODUCTION OF CROPS

Berea, Nov. 23 — The Food and Nutrition Coordinating Office (FNCO) in Berea district has encouraged the Jorodane, Ha-Letsie community to invest much in climate smart agriculture in order to promote food security at all times.

District Food and Nutrition Coordinating Officer (DFNCO) Ms. Lineo Maime made the remarks on Friday while addressing Jorodane community members during the District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) climate change awareness campaign.

Ms. Maime said despite the adverse impacts of climate change, people need to integrate climate smart agricultural practices in order to ensure availability of vegetables and crops for healthy eating practices.

She pointed out that climate change continues to impact lives negatively, people die of chronic illness, unhealthy eating habits and other diseases linked to the impacts of climate change, hence the significance to build resilience by eating healthy.
