Maseru, Apr.07—-The first session of the Court of Appeal of Lesotho has on Monday commenced under the theme: ” Towards a Resurgent Judiciary: Restoring Honour, Capacity and Confidence in Lesotho’s Superior Courts.”
In his opening remarks, President of the Court of Appeal Justice Kananelo Mosito stated that the deteriorating state of the judicial service and the compromised welfare of the judges who serve at the apex of the judicial system is a concern.
He pointed out that the superior courts of Lesotho (High Court and the Court of Appeal) are tasked with the gravest of constitutional and legal responsibilities. He emphasised that they interpret statutes, settle disputes of national significance and guard the Rule of Law with unflinching integrity.
