FARMING INPUTS SALE BEGINS

Maseru, Oct. 11 — The sale of farming inputs for summer cropping commenced on Friday at resource centres countrywide and have been subsidised.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition Mr. Thabo Mofosi at a press conference held in Maseru on Friday.

Mr. Mofosi said the farming inputs have been subsidised with fertiliser being 80 percent while seeds, herbicides and pesticides are subsidised by 70 percent.

He said as the subsidy is intended to extend a helping hand to all farmers, block farmers will be given 40 percent of farming inputs based on the land they have prepared with the assistance of extension officers, a member of parliament, chief and community councilor.
