Mokhotlong, Feb. 06 — Employers and workers are expected to operate in accordance with the Labour Act 2024, to promote fair labour practices at different workplaces.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr. Ts’eliso Mokhotsi said this when speaking at the official launching ceremony of the Polihali Bargaining Forum Constitution held at the Polihali Operations Centre, in Malingoaneng, Mokhotlong on Thursday.
He said the Labour Act was passed last year and one of its purposes is to promote collective bargaining on labour disputes between Employers Organisations, workers and Trade Unions in the country and to allow collective bargaining for the stated entities.
Mr. Mokhosi said the forum will therefore serve as platform expected to give employers and workers the opportunity to determine how they are going to relate at the workplace by developing their own code of conduct suitable for their work place as well as to determine how they will resolve labour disputes especially those that usually emanate from wages.
