ELDERLY PEOPLE`S WALK TO MAINTAIN THEIR GOOD HEALTH

Berea, Feb 13 — With aim to promote healthy lifestyle, Teyateyaneng Senior Citizen Fitness Club (TSCFC) were on Thursday engaged in a 1km walk from Thakaneng Youth Resource Centre to Teyateyaneng Correctional Institute, then back to Thakaneng to continue their routine gym.

Coach Katleho Sekhoahla said TSCFC embarked on this journey to restore elderly people`s confidence, this mission is also part of the objective of the gym as said earlier. “Exercising to maintain a healthy lifestyle and also unite them to refresh the mind.”

Coach Sekhoahla explained that elderly people should be taken care of to avoid exposure to chronic diseases, dementia as well as asthma because as they grow they are easily affected.

Moreover, she said when elderly people are always at home people turn to take advantage of their elderly status by stealing from them knowing their minds are not clearly working so they see the gym as a safe place to share joy. “Elderly people need to feel safe and loved”, coach Sekhoahla said. . .
