ELDERLY PEOPLE SPEAK ON NON-INCREMENT

Maseru, Feb. 27 – The non increment for elderly people appearing in the 2025/26 fiscal year budget has both positive and negative implications on beneficiaries.

These were the perceptions gathered from different sources, particularly the aged who were interviewed by the Agency about the old age pensions which remain at M950.00 on the budget.

The 77-year-old Nkhono ‘Maserialong Ntlhasinye of Ha Leqele who talked to the Agency on Thursday morning said not getting increment presents both positive and negative consequences to them.

Talking to the positive side, she stipulated that now that their allowances remain at M950, this may contribute to reducing theft and other forms of crimes they often face after accessing their funds… AM/BM
