ELDERLY CARE OFFICER CALLS FOR SUPPORT OF ELDERLY PEOPLE

Mafeteng, June 18 — The Elderly Care Officer from the Ministry of Gender, Youth,and Social Development Mrs. ‘Maleloko Sakoane has called on the elderly to support each other rather than abusing each other as it is their time to enjoy life in all forms.

She made the remarks during World Elder Abuse Awareness Day held at Bereng High School premisses on Tuesday where she informed them that they have passed tough times of upbringing their children of whom they are now adults who are supposed to care for them.

Mrs. Sakoane notified them that abuse is not only assault, but it comes in different ways such as verbally, being denied provision of any services they need as well as sharing food not when they are hungry rather than hiding them and take out such food while the other partner is away, showing them it is their time to support and sympathise with each other where necessary. . .
