Maseru, Apr. 21 — Drunken driving and high speed top the list of causes of road accidents in Maseru this Easter holidays.
This is according to statistics provided by the Lesotho Mounted Police Service Headquarters Information Office.
Police Public Relations Officer, Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli says in Maseru urban, a total of 20 road accidents were reported from Thursday last week to Sunday.
He said although the nation can take consolation in the fact that there are no deaths reported resulting from all these accidents, it is unfortunate that drunken driving and high speeding remain the cause despite efforts to remind motorists to take care and be vigilant, especially during holidays when people are in a good mood.
