Maseru, Mar. 07 — Following the Ministerial launch to encourage females to receive the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine, District Health Management Team (DHMT) made a significant presence at the College of Paramedic and Fire Engineering today
Speaking at the event, a Nurse specializing in children’s health Mrs. Marelebobile Foso emphasized the importance of combating the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) which is transmitted through sexual intercourse.
In her speech, Mrs. Foso highlighted that HPV is primarily acquired through sexual contact and the vaccine is specifically designed to fight against it. She strongly advised males to consider circumcision, as HPV tends to localize in the foreskin.
For females who have already received three doses of the HPV vaccine, Mrs. Foso recommended additional vaccination to boost their immunity, as for those who have not vaccinated before are encouraged to receive the vaccine, with a single dose being sufficient.
