Maseru, Feb. 12 — Maseru District Administrator (DA), Mr. Ts’epo Lethobane strongly urged transparency and meritocracy in the selection of Maseru Urban Disaster Management Team (MUDMT).
He said this when officially opening disaster risk reduction stakeholders meeting in Maseru on Wednesday intended to select the MUDMT.
This is in regard to the Phase II of Disaster Risk Reduction, Urban Preparedness and Response which has three locally driven deliverables in building resilient cities against disasters thus; Urban readiness, Urban Vulnerabilities and targeting as well as harmonized Urban cash and voucher assistance (CVA) protocols.
He said that when selecting the team, they should select people who are capable and will be able to deliver especially as disasters are major challenges in Lesotho.
