Maseru, Jan.23—The Crime Prevention Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Ex-Offenders Association
(CRROA) has expressed disappointment in Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) following the fatal
killing of an inmate by another on Tuesday.
CRROA Executive Director Mr. Nkalimeng Mothobi said this in an interview where he said this is a
sign that the Correctional Officers have neglected their work of protecting the inmates. He said the
fact that LCS has indicated that it has suspended general search in cells is testimony that they are
not doing their work as expected.
He said the Commission of Inquiry was established to ensure that the Correctional Officers do their
work accordingly and lawfully but not to instill fear in them saying that they should not neglect their
job as actions are taken to correct their wrongdoing.
