COURT GOES FOR INSPECTION

Maseru, Mar.12 — The High Court through a case in which four police officers are charged with the murder of their colleague Police Constable Mokalekale Khetheng, has on Wednesday conducted an inspection in loco at Ha Setho and Lepereng.

While at Ha Setho, Detective Inspector Tankiso Lethoko who is currently on the stand as one of the state witnesses, showed the court a spot in a stream where the investigation team was in 2017 told that an unknown body, which later turned out to be that of Khetheng, was in 2016 found. He indicated that the state of the water in the stream was the same as when they were at the scene adding that they were told that it was still the same when the body was discovered.

From Ha Setho, the court moved past Ha Mokhalinyane Police Station as it was informed that the body was collected by the police from there. The court was also shown a mortuary at Ha Majane where the body was taken to by the police.

The inspection in loco was taken to Lepereng cemetery where the witness pointed out a place where the body of Khetheng was buried together with other unidentified bodies in 2016. He also stated that it was at the same place where the body of the deceased was exhumed in August 2017. . .
