COURT FAILS TO HEAR ARGUMENTS

Maseru, Sept. 13 — Hearing of arguments in an application for recusal which is sought by Thabiso Lekitla, which was scheduled for today, could not proceed as parties failed to file papers in terms of directives.

Lekitla, a Member of Parliament who is standing trial for murder is seeking the judge presiding over his case Justice Mbatsoeneng Hlaele, to recuse herself.

It was expected that by today, parties in the matter would have filed and exchanged all the necessary papers and the application would be ready for hearing. The court was however told that the defence which is the applicant has not yet filed heads of arguments.

It was further told that the delay was caused by transcription of a record of court proceedings which was requested for preparation of the application.
