CONDUCT OF MINISTER ILLEGAL-LAWYER 

Maseru, Nov.27—- Legal representative for applicants in a case in which former members of the Board of Directors of the Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) are challenging their removal, Advocate Tekane Maqakachane says the conduct of the Minister of Energy when he dissolved the old board and appointed a new one pending a case before court, is illegal. 

This he said when addressing the court on Wednesday. 

He argued that it was wrong for him to have continued as he did when the court had not yet made its determination. He stated that he took a political decision without legal basis adding that he violated the principle of sub Judice. He further argued that the conduct of the minister constitutes a reviewable irregularity. He therefore asked the court to review and set aside the decision to remove the applicants from the Board…
