COMMISSION MEMBERS SELECTION BASED ON LAW

Maseru, Apr. 24 — The selection of three members of the Commission of Inquiry was done in accordance with the Public Inquiries Act of 1994.

This was said by the Minister of Law and Justice Mr. Richard Ramoeletsi when briefing the media about the newly appointed Commission of Inquiry which is intended to investigate the circumstances that led to the escape and illtramatent of inmates in December last year at Maseru Central Prison.

Mr. Ramoeletsi said the  Chairperson of the Commission, Justice Realeboha Mathaba was appointed by the Chief Justice while the appointment of Adv. Kelebone Maope who is a Member was based on his expertise as the Human Rights Lawyer and Mr. Mojalefa Thulo who is also a Member has expertise in the administration of Correctional Institutions as the Former Commissioner of Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS)…
