Mafeteng, August 03 — Colostrum is the first immunization for newborns as it helps in fighting communicable diseases that might attack infants.
The remarks were made by the Nutritionist in the Ministry of Health Mrs. ‘Malimpho Ntai when addressing health professionals from different departments to mark World Breastfeeding week on Thursday.
Mrs. Ntai said it also provides infants with high protein and clear the baby gut of meconium.
She highlighted that colostrum has all nutrients needed by young body in proper proportion and ease digestive system without causing constipation. . .
