Maseru, Feb. 19 — Wednesday February 19, the day that determines whether Lesotho is economically growing or not engulfed with dullness.
Members of Parliament walked in not so enthusiastic or looking forward to the budget presentation.
Unlike in the past years whereby they put on their political party regalia, this year only three were spotted in their party regalia representing All Basotho Convention (ABC) and Democratic Congress (DC) while others were dressed in normal colours.
However some seats were still empty in the House.
Development partners, Ambassadors, non-governmental organizations, senior government officials were among those who came to witness the budget presentation.
The media gallery was packed to capacity with local journalists and reporters.
Among the opposition leaders present were DC Leader Mr. Mathibeli Mokhothu, ABC Leader Mr. Nkaku Kabi and Basotho National Party (BNP) Leader Mr. Machesetsa Mofomobe while government partner Mr. Mothetjoa Metsing was not seen before the session began.
The 2025/26 budget presentation by the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane under the theme”Inclusive Growth”.
