Maseru, Feb. 06 — Responding to the pressing issues of hunger and poverty within communities, the Basotho Action Party (BAP) has launched a significant initiative focusing on subsistence farming across various communities in Maseru, urban and rural areas.
In an exclusive interview with Mr. Lepolesa Makutoane, the spokesperson for BAP, it was revealed that addressing hunger and poverty through agricultural projects is a key component of the party’s manifesto.
Mr. Makutoane emphasized that subsistence farming is a priority area for BAP, adding that they will be providing farming tools and resources such as seeds, along with imparting essential farming skills to communities.
“Farming is a vital sector that the government should prioritize as it has the potential to alleviate unemployment, poverty, and hunger,” stated Mr. Makutoane, highlighting the multifaceted benefits of investing in agriculture.
