Maseru, Feb. 26 — “We have come a long way since our formation. This first anniversary is not just a celebration of our existence but a reaffirmation of our commitment to strengthening relations between our two nations and uplifting communities in need,” stated Ifthekharul Islam, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Association of Lesotho (BAoL), during the association’s vibrant anniversary celebration held on Thursday.
The event brought together association members, distinguished guests, and dignitaries for a memorable evening dedicated to cultural exchange and the achievements of the past year.
Since its establishment on February 18, 2024, and the grand launch on March 10, 2024, BAoL has made significant strides in fostering closer ties between the Bangladesh and Basotho communities.
Mr Islam’s remarks encapsulated the spirit of the gathering, emphasizing the association’s ongoing mission to bridge cultural divides and support those in need. The celebration began with a solemn prayer and included the singing of both the Lesotho and Bangladesh national anthems, symbolizing the unity and respect shared between the two nations. LS/TL
