ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE VITAL FOR SDGS – MINISTER

Maseru, Jan. 30 – The government of Lesotho recognises the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) towards attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

This was said by the Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), Ms. Nthati Moorosi when officially closing a three-day validation workshop of three policies that is broad band and shared infrastructure, data management and Artificial Intelligence (AI) respectively.

The Minister highlighted the significance of these policies in helping Lesotho achieve SDG’s as covered and articulated also within the country’s National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) II review extension.

Talking about the AI policy, she stated that the AI policy seeks to integrate AI technologies for economic growth and the broad band provides essential internet and service quality. Also, data policy ensures ethical data management and privacy. . .
