AGRICULTURAL INNOVATİONS IN CHINA OFFER HOPE FOR LESOTHO’S SECTOR

Maseru, Mar. 13 – A farmer from Mafeteng Mr. Paballo Paneng says by adopting research-driven strategies, Lesotho’s farmers could improve crop resilience and yields, helping to combat food insecurity exacerbated by climate variations.

This Mr. Paneng said emphasising that Lesotho has always been known for its subsistence farming practices hence could benefit from agricultural innovations emerging from the China-Pakistan collaboration on project that integrate molecular breeding and bioinformatics.

He further explained that as more Pakistan researchers engage with Chinese institutions, they lay a foundation for cross-border knowledge exchange. This partnership not only enhances agricultural productivity and food security for Pakistan but also creates a framework for countries like Lesotho to address their own agricultural challenges.

As agricultural cooperation deepens between China and Pakistan, the developments in rice and sugarcane research are not only beneficial for Pakistan but also hold promise for countries like Lesotho facing agricultural challenges. This partnership showcases the potential for transformative strategies that can positively impact nations across Africa. . .
