AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK ADVOCATES FOR CLEAN WATER FOR ALL

Maseru, March 25 — Access to clean water and sanitation is essential for human health, dignity and development as it helps promote good health and disease prevention, it promotes dignity and quality of life, economic growth and productivity as well as environmental sustainability.

This was said by the President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina during his tour at Sekete Primary School in Ha Maja where the African Development Bank through the Lesotho Lowlands Water and Sanitation Development Project (LLWSDP) II has financed the establishment of water taps and toilets.

Speaking during this tour, Dr. Adesina said that the African Development Bank is having an aspiration to assist Lesotho in ensuring that every Mosotho has access to clean drinking water despite their geographical destination.

He indicated that water is an important aspect that needs to be appreciated as it plays an important role in the development of the child. NT/TL
