ACCUSED SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION

Maseru, Nov.05—Retired Army Commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli together with Sergeant Lekhooa Moepi who are some of the accused in a case in which some army members are charged with the murder of Maaparankoe Mahao, have on Tuesday requested to be taken for medical attention.

Legal representative for Kamoli, Advocate Letuka Molati told the court that his client had an appointment to see a Dentist on October 31 2024 but the officials of the Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) refused to take him. He stated that he was told that vehicles do not have fuel to transport him. He asked the court to order the LCS to take him to the dentist as he is experiencing constant pain.

Adv. Qhalehang Letsika who is representing Moepi told the court that when his client was taken to the doctor at Makoanyane Military Hospital last month, a member of the LCS who had accompanied him refused to be excused when the doctor who was to examine him requested privacy. He indicated that the doctor ended up not attending to the accused because he insisted that confidentiality should be maintained, as a result, he is currently out of medication…
