BEANS NOT ENOUGH -LEHATA

Leribe, Aug. 07 — District Disaster Manager Leribe Mrs.Mamolapo Lehata says the beans collected from farmers in Leribe have not reached the expected 39000 kilograms  from July 19 to August 04.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency, Mrs Lehata said her office has not managed to reach the expected kilograms due to various reasons such as low yield as a result of heavy rains during summer cropping of 2022/2023.

She explained that due to the heavy rains of 2021/2022 most farmers were reluctant to plant beans as it was anticipated that the same was coming, which indeed was.
