FNB LESOTHO PARTNERS WITH LMPS TO ENHANCE FINANCIAL LITERACY

Maseru, Mar. 27 — Following a recent study that revealed a staggering number of police personnel struggling with debt, highlighting the urgent need for financial education and support, First National Bank (FNB) Lesotho has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS).

At the signing ceremony that took place at the Police Training Centre (PTC) on Thursday, FNB’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Delegazi Mokebe emphasized the importance of providing tools for financial management to police officers.

“We found a need to assist officials with meaningful lending and savings plans that are crucial in helping them manage their finances better,” Ms. Mokebe remarked. She noted that the partnership aims to support the officers in their duties, allowing them to focus on their roles as protectors of the community.

“I can run at 4 am without worry knowing there are watchdogs on duty. By easing their financial burdens, we aim to enhance their performance while they work to keep our communities safe,” she added. LS/TL
