REFRAIN FROM UNSAFE PRACTICES-MAHLO

Berea, Feb 28 — Petroleum Fund Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mr. Rorisang Mahlo has strongly emphasized the growing need for people to do away with unsafe practices of handling petroleum products for their safety.

Speaking during their Consumer Education on Safe Handling of Petroleum Products campaign held for Lioli high school students, Petroleum Fund PRO said majority of students have already started using petroleum products hence they decided to educate them on the use of such.

He pointed out that if not properly handled, petroleum products can wreak havoc and lead to disastrous scenes like injuries, burning to ashes the entire school facility, hence no compromise when it comes to safety measures of handling of petroleum products.

“Lack of knowledge and minor mistakes has burned to ashes many properties including residential areas”, he added.

Petroleum Fund PRO said urged student to consider the knowledge gained to be a lifelong skill to help them even in the future when they are running their own families, highlighting that it is wise to have knowledge on handling paraffin, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) whether when refilling it and while using it indoors, and safety tips on efficient ways of using fuel on vehicles. . .
