Mohale’s Hoek, Feb.27 — The Disaster Management Authority’s District Manager Mr. Lebohang Moletsane says for a country to operate efficiently, it must look after its nationals as they are a valuable treasure.
Mr. Moletsane stated this during the District Disaster Management Team’s (DDMT) monthly meeting, held with the purpose of getting reports from various stakeholders, regarding response to the current El Nino-Induced Food Insecurity Disaster, which led to the declaration of national food insecurity disaster by the Prime Minister.
He articulated that apart from Tsoha-O-Iketsetse and Lesupa-Tsela programmes which both encountered some challenges DMA, has distributed maize and wheat to about 520 beneficiaries at Mashaleng Community Council, revealing they have received about 562 bags from the office in Maseru, and are still expecting donations of sorghum, wheat and rice from China and India respectively, which will be distributed to the communities currently not getting any form of assistance.. . .
