PUBLIC SERVANTS TWO PERCENT UNJUSTIFIED – ACCOUNTANT

Maseru, Feb. 24 – Public Servants is the first and best resource to support, if the government is to attain timely and measurable progress in production.

This is to say, an adjustment of two percent salaries and wages for public servants across the board to take home pay as per the 2025/26 fiscal budget is not justified.

The Former Accountant General, Mr. Sam Mphaka said this in an interview with the Agency on Monday. The accountant, known for wealth of knowledge in taxation and accounting, was giving his analysis on the two percent salary increase.

He stipulated that while the Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Retsélisitsoe Matlanyane may have indicated that this was done against inflation as well as over and above notching, such reasons are not enough and justified…
