Maseru, Feb.20 — The Leader of Opposition Mr. Mathibeli Mokhothu has applauded the government on the allocation of M1.5 billion for powering economic activities, improving infrastructure and achieving sustainable development goals.
Speaking at the press conference to critique the budget presentation which was done by the Minister of Finance and Development Planning Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane at the National Assembly on Wednesday, Mr. Mokhothu indicated that this is an indication that the Government is committed to enhancing energy security and access across the country.
He stated that it is every Mosotho’s right to have access to electricity and all other infrastructural developmental projects therefore this is a good move made by the government.
On the other hand, Mr. Mokhothu mentioned that the budget presentation however has loopholes as it does no longer outlines the progress that the government has made in the 2024/2025 budget in terms of addressing issues such as unemployment, access to clean drinking water, infrastructure, tourism as well as food security to mention but a few. . . .
