DECEASED HAD MULTIPLE WOUNDS-EVIDENCE 

Maseru, Feb.12— The High Court has on Wednesday heard that a 3-year-old boy Lebohang Letuka of Khohlo- Nts’o at Bokong in Thaba-Tseka who was killed by his father Reli Letuka in 2018, had sustained 21 stab wounds. 

Evidence by several witnesses who testified before court in the murder case against the father of the deceased revealed that the accused stabbed the deceased with a knife multiple times at night after he asked for food. It further revealed that he got irritated by the child’s cry as he asked for the food. 

The evidence indicated that the body of the deceased was found at a neighbour’s garden and the accused had absconded, but was arrested in another village. 

The court had on Monday ruled that the accused is fit to stand trial. This was following an application that he be taken for psychiatric evaluation to determine if he is fit to stand the trial as the prosecution and the defence suspected that he is mentally unstable…
