LESOTHO AMBASSADOR OUTLINES EXPECTATIONS FOR AU EXECUTIVE COUNCIL SESSION

Maseru, Feb. 07 — Lesotho’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Nts’iuoa Sekete, has outlined the expectations for the upcoming Ministerial Session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council, set to take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 12 to 13 February 2025.

In a statement Ambassador Sekete described the two-day meeting as a comprehensive package of activities aimed at advancing Africa’s peace and economic integration, infrastructure development, and social services.

The session will also focus on promoting digital transformation, gender equality, and human rights, as well as addressing food security and electoral reforms.

Ambassador Sekete emphasized that the session will be critical in discussing and adopting decisions on key issues affecting the continent, including advancing Africa’s peace and economic integration, improved infrastructure and social services, health and wellbeing, digital transformation, gender equality, human rights and justice, and food security.
