FESTIVE ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED

Maseru, Nov. 27 – The Department of road safety launched a festive season road safety campaign on Monday (today) and is implemented countrywide.

According to Principal Road Safety Officer Mr. Setsoto Putsoa, the campaign is intended to ensure that all road users abide by road regulations in order to prevent accidents as most people will be on the roads in preparation of Christmas and New Year holidays.

He indicated that all road safety stakeholders who include traffic inspectors, members of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service, military police and the Judiciary will focus on over speeding, overloading, drunken driving, conditions of vehicles and safety belts amongst others

He therefore urged road users, particularly passengers and drivers to be patient during the campaign as the intention is to ensure that they arrive at their destinations alive. . .
