Maseru, Nov. 05 — As part of realising and promoting inclusive education, the Lesotho Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD) has procured inclusive education assistive technology devices and converted textbooks for the visually impaired learners at Resource Centre for The Blind.
According to a press statement from the organisation the devices include 10 braille One Safari which is a revolutionary tool that promotes equality and diversity. It adds that the device can read, write and edit therefore allows learners to have more than access to reading materials and also allows for use in an inclusive learning environment. It further adds that the device promotes braille literacy and removes the barriers of braille becoming expensive to produce.
“The tool makes interaction between a visually impaired learner who is conversant with braille and a teacher who has no braille skills as what is written in braille can be copied to a flash disc and be printed or read in their word or PDF documents,” says the statement. . .
