CONTEMPT CASE AGAINST IEC GETS HEARING DATE

Maseru, Oct.06—– A case in which the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is accused of contempt of court by its Public Relations Manager Tuoe Hantsi, was on Friday scheduled to October 19 2023 for hearing before the Labour Court.

Hantsi who has been engaging in a battle with the IEC for his job after he was dismissed, instituted an application for contempt of court against the commission. This was following failure by the IEC to reinstate him as per a court order issued by the Labour Court on September 14 2023. The order was issued after Hantsi approached the same court challenging his dismissal from work by the IEC.
