Quthing, Oct. 20 — At least 37 initiation schools that comprise males and of females are currently in operation at different areas of Quthing for initiation season 2024-25.
The invitation initiation season started in September and is expected to end early January to give the initiates an opportunity to undergo formal education.
The ongoing initiation schools include 15 of Xhosa males, 20 Basotho males and two of Basotho females.
In an interview with the Agency, Chairperson of Quthing District Initiation Committee Mr. Mashapa Letsie said the schools are operating in different areas of the district at Initiation sites that have been allocated by the office of the Principal Chief of Quthing as the primary custodian and protector of custom related issues and activities. . .
