Maseru, March 06 — The Team Lesotho which consists of athletes from Athletics, Boxing, Cycling and Taekwondo left the country for the 13th African Games to be staged in Accra, Ghana starting on Thursday to March 23 this year.
Bidding the team farewell at the Scenery Guest House at Maseru East on Wednesday, Minister of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture via Principal Secretary Ms. Mpho Marathane wished the team luck and safe trip to East African country, Ghana.
She noted that what makes this year’s event special is the fact that these athletes are going to hoist the national flag when the country is marking its 200 years of existence.
Ms. Marathane therefore urged the athletes to go all out to make the event a memorable one, adding that they are proud to bid the team well.
